Welcome to the IGEL 2006 website. Here you will find information on:
- the biennial conference of IGEL, to be held from 5 through 9 August 2006 , on the Lady’s island in Lake Chiem , near Munich
- the 2nd Summer School, intended for junior researchers who wish to further their grasp of research methodologies, to be held at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich , from 30 July through 4 August.
Registration will begin on 5 August from 11 a.m. onwards, followed by the official opening and the first plenary paper by Elizabeth Long at 4 p.m., and reception.
Because of the proximity of the Alps, the weather is generally rather unpredictable in Munich. Nights can be chilly, so bring a sweater. And yes, it may rain sometimes: usually these are short but heavy showers. So bring an umbrella. But Summers tend to be mild generally, and with a bit of luck we will have a lot of sunshine.
We would nevertheless lilke to draw your attention to a few highlights in the IGEL 2006 conference:
The conference will close on Wednesday 9 August at lunch time.
